Hagen is a city of about 200.000 inhabitants and is situated on the south-eastern edge of the Ruhr-Area wih Dortmund 25km to the north.

The tdh working group is connected to the community, hometown to the members of the group, in a variety of ways:

The tdh working group has been a member of the North-South-Forum right from the start. The North-South-Forum is a network of Third World and human-rights groups in Hagen. It was  in the North-South-Forum, the Agenda21-process in Hagen was initiated, which eventually led to the formation of the Agenda Advisory-Board to the city corporation. The tdh working group is represented in this board.

For their meetings, which take place every second week, the members of the working group gather in the “Bistro-Mundial” in the “AllerWeltHaus”. This is a house right in the heart of the city, which is the focal-point for a number of groups and runs several related campaigns of its own. It is also home to a Fair-Trade shop. From time to time there are joint campaigns.
